Parliamentary Elections in Serbia, 11 May 2008
14.05.2008 A 29-member delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) observed the parliamentary elections in Serbia on 11 May. The ALDE Group was represented by Doris Fiala (Switzerland), Michael Aastrup Jensen (Denmark), Morten Ostergaard (Denmark), Andrea Rigoni (Italy) and Andrej Zernovski ("the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia"), who also participated in the pre-election mission.
The mission concluded that the election was conducted in an overall professional manner permitting the voters to express their will freely. The observers were, however, troubled by death threats addressed to senior politicians of the country.
